Mariposa Wellness Veterinary Center – Specializes in wellness and disease preventative medicine for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets and other small mammals. They treat the whole pet with an eye towards the bigger picture of complete quality of life (nutrition, exercise, behavior and bond with the family).

Arbor Creek Animal Hospital – Their mission is to provide an integrative approach to Veterinary Medicine. They strive to offer cutting edge services with a holistic approach by blending both Western and Eastern medicine. Their ultimate goal is to provide high quality veterinary care and excellent customer service to pets and their people in a warm and personal environment.

Linda Faris, DVM – Linda is now with the Animal Clinic of Boardwalk Square where they have integrated holistic treatments into a conventional veterinary practice.

Spay & Neuter Kansas City – Formed in 2002 with a primary goal of promoting affordable spay and neuter services to help decrease pet overpopulation in the Kansas City area.


Great Plains SPCA – Great Plains SPCA is a comprehensive animal welfare organization and is a Missouri 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. They believe that no matter what their size, shape or story, all dogs and cats deserve the chance to live long, happy and healthy lives. Their team of experts works hard every day to be a lifeline to a better future for pets by providing comprehensive, affordable medical care, adoption services and innovative community programs.

Wayside Waifs – Wayside Waifs is a charitable animal shelter whose purpose is to place adoptable companion animals in responsible homes.

Humane Society of Greater Kansas City – Their mission is to save and improve the lives of dogs and cats throughout the Greater KC community by providing education, adoptions, preventative veterinary care and spay/neuter services.

KC Pet Project – The mission of the Kansas City Pet Project is to end the killing of healthy and treatable pets in Kansas City, MO by using the most innovative and effective sheltering and animal control policies available.

Hearts United for Animals – A national no-kill animal shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization dedicated to the relief of suffering. They rescue dogs from all over the country and specialize in long distance adoptions. They take creatures who are lost, afraid, hungry or ill and comfort them, give them a warm, soft bed, good food, medical care and most of all, love.

Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter – FOPAS’s primary mission is to humanely house, care for, provide medical treatment for, and find permanent homes for the abandoned and stray dogs and cats from Platte, Clay and, to some extent, surrounding counties which have come under our care.

HELP Humane – a non-profit corporation committed to ending the suffering and killing of homeless, abused and neglected animals by rescuing, sheltering, rehabilitating and seeking forever families for these animals and educating the public on proper pet guardianship and the importance of spaying and neutering.


MOGS – Missouri German Shepherd Rescue – A small and growing breed specific rescue based in Kansas City, MO.  They save dogs throughout the Midwest and have volunteers in MO, KS and NE. Their focus is German Shepherd dogs, but will also help other breeds and GSD mixes as much as they can. They use foster homes to save dogs and do not have a shelter or physical facility.

Kitty City Kansas Rescue – is a group of unpaid volunteers dedicated to saving homeless kittens and cats from euthanasia in kill shelters and to adopting them into approved, permanent homes. Kitties live cage-free in licensed foster homes until they are adopted. Kitty City Kansas is a no-kill rescue and a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity.

Chain of Hope – Formed in 2010 with a primary goal of alleviating the suffering of abused and neglected animals within the urban core of Kansas City. Their ultimate goal is to break the chain of ignorance, break the chain of suffering, and break the chain of unwanted litters.

Missouri Pit Pull Rescue – MPR’s Mission is to promote responsible Pit Bull ownership, provide breed education, combat pet overpopulation, fight unfair legislation’s, and find qualified homes for sound Pit Bull dogs in Missouri.

Mid-America Bully Breed Rescue – Their goal is to assist pit bull-type dogs who find themselves in high kill animal shelters in the Midwest. They have expanded and this foster home network is maintained entirely by volunteers.

Beagles and More Rescue – An all-volunteer group dedicated to assisting dogs, particularly beagles, in need.

Heartland Weimaraner Rescue – Their mission is to rescue and place unwanted Weimaraners.

Mo-Kan Greyhound – A tax-exempt, non-profit corporation for the purpose of finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds and educating the public on the suitability and availability of greyhounds as pets. Their programs depend on donations and volunteers to accomplish their wonderful mission. All funds go directly to their programs; the organization is comprised solely of volunteers.

KC REGAP (Kansas City Retired Greyhounds as Pets) – A not for profit 501c3 organization dedicated to finding loving homes for retired greyhounds.

Unleashed Pet Rescue – A licensed, non-profit animal shelter that works to save the lives of homeless pets and strives to improve the image of bully breeds in society.
Also works with high kill shelters in the Kansas City area to pull “unwanted” pets to safety.

Midwest Adopt-A-Bull – A small rescue organization formed by a group of people that came together to share their love for bully breed type dogs. They do adoptions throughout the Midwest, as well as do that they can to help any dog in need, not just bully breeds.

Taysia Blue – An all-volunteer,  nonprofit 501c3 organization that provides a network to shelter, rehabilitate and re-home Siberian huskies in the Midwest who are abused, abandoned, neglected, or surrendered by their owners. They also provide education on responsible husky ownership and a forum for Siberian husky and other Northern breed enthusiasts to meet and play.

The Rescue Project – A non-profit organization dedicated to building trustful relationships with people and their pets and improving the lives of needy animals living in underserved Kansas City communities. They provide basic survival items such as food and dog houses and offer low cost veterinary resources emphasizing the need to spay and neuter.


Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation – The Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation protects animals from abuse, neglect and exploitation by monitoring and facilitating the passage of animal welfare laws, thereby enhancing the quality of life for people and animals in Missouri.
