My partner and I recently rescued a two year old cat who is completely paralyzed in his front legs and with limited use of his back legs. By the time we found Link he had been paralyzed for over a month and was left lying on a couch with little care and no medical attention. He was severely underfed and his whiskers had been cut off. Even though he was in really rough shape, he warmed right up to us and we had him purring in no time.
In the weeks since we brought him home, Link has gained weight and is much happier and we are working hard to raise money to pay for his medical bills. He has seen a neurologist who recommended that we get Link an MRI to figure out why he is unable to walk. While we’re busy fundraising, we try our best to make sure that our little guy gets the best nutrition, especially since he was so malnourished and dehydrated when we met him. We’ve been making weekly trips to your store to buy Weruva wet food for him and he absolutely loves it! (He’s made it quite obvious that the Polynesian BBQ is his favorite).
Link is our fourth cat and we ended up adopting him unexpectedly since he wasn’t cared for well at his last home. We’ve been struggling with the financial strain of caring for him and making vet visits, so winning this gift card would make a world of difference to us.
Link’s current daily care includes changing his diaper and bedding, re-positioning him to prevent bed sores, spoon feeding, exercising his limbs to prevent further atrophy, and cuddling him as much as we can. We’ve fallen in love with him and can’t imagine not having him around to make us smile. I’m glad we got to share his story with you and thanks for being the best pet food store EVER!
