Natural Flea and Tick solutions for the season!
With spring and summer fast approaching, it means we will be outside a lot more with our furry loved ones. Which also means pests dangerous to our pets will be coming out to play as well. We have some natural products in our Olathe pet store to help with preventing those nasty critters from attaching to your furry loved ones this year. 4 Paws Pantry has all natural repellants, including collars, sprays, spot-on, and other options in store for your pet!
Earth Animal is a company known for its focus on natural and holistic pet care products, including flea and tick prevention options. Their Natural Flea and Tick collars and drops are designed to protect pets from these common pests using natural ingredients, rather than relying on harsh chemicals. Earth Animal’s products contain natural ingredients like essential oils, herbs, and plant extracts that are known for their repellent properties against fleas and ticks. These ingredients are often safer for pets and the environment compared to synthetic chemicals.
Earth Animal offers flea and tick collars that are infused with a blend of natural repellents. These collars are designed to be worn around the neck of the pet and provide continuous protection against fleas and ticks for a certain period, between 2 to 3 months.
In addition to collars, Earth Animal also provides flea and tick drops, which are applied directly onto the pet’s skin, often between the shoulder blades. These drops are absorbed into the pet’s skin and provide protection against fleas and ticks for up to a month. Spot-on products are best used 3-4 weeks before flea and tick season starts, and applied again every month afterward.

Another product we recommend for extra protection is Cedarcide. The Cedarcide spray is a natural insect repellent that utilizes cedar oil as its active ingredient. It’s often used to repel fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and other pests from pets, humans, and outdoor areas. Cedar oil is known for its insecticidal properties and is considered safe for use around children and pets when used as directed. Cedarcide spray is typically applied directly to the skin or clothing, or it can be sprayed onto surfaces and outdoor areas to create a barrier against pests. It’s popular among those looking for alternative, chemical-free methods of pest control.
4 Paws Pantry & Spa also carries the ZenPet Tick Tornado. When ticks bite, they insert their long, central mouth-part (called the hypostome) into the skin. The hypostome is covered with sharp, backward-facing barbs (similar to a harpoon) which help keep the tick firmly attached while feeding. The twisting motion of the Tick Tornado removes the tick while keeping the tick’s mouth-parts intact. Pulling on a tick with ordinary tweezers can leave the mouth-parts embedded in the skin.
In addition to being safe for pets, natural insect repellents are generally considered more environmentally friendly compared to chemical alternatives. They are less likely to harm beneficial insects or contaminate water sources when used as directed.
