Stanley, the English Bulldog, is slated to have his surgery this month to correct damage to his sinus area and his teeth, caused by a bilateral cleft pallet. Deborah Pack and her family have given a home to Stanley and his sibling Ollie (who is deaf) so that they could be given all the care they need during their lifetime. You see Deborah has rescued many critters in her past and is currently dog mom to nine English Bulldogs (see her story about Annika).
One other great thing that Deborah does is to spread the word to adults and children about pets with disabilities and how they deserve as much love and care as those born without challenges. It’s great to hear stories from Deborah about her classroom of young children pitching in to help with Stanley and Ollie’s care. They want to do whatever they can to make it a wonderful life for those two pups.
Hopefully our next update will consist of a clean bill of health for Stanley and…drum roll please, a special day of observance statewide for disabled dogs like Stanley. The governor of Missouri, Jay Nixon, has been in touch with Deborah to discuss that possibility. Congratulations Deborah, we’ll keep our paws crossed!
