It’s official, Walter, a fabulous Golden Retriever, and a redhead I might add, is the CFO (Chief Furry Officer) of Four Paws Pantry & Spa. Many customers have already had the pleasure of meeting Walter, and what a wonderful welcome he received.
A little bit of background on this big boy; rescued as a four month old puppy by Golden Retriever Rescue (GRR) of KC, Walter was one of many siblings. He was left to his own devices until gathered up by GRR and brought to live with his foster mom, Jacki, plus other members of the pack, including three dogs and another human.
Walter shaped up quickly under Jacki’s tutelage. No ordinary foster mom, Jacki worked with the most challenging fosters GRR had to offer. She also socialized and trained puppies looking for careers as assistance dogs. So it was no wonder this furry frequent visitor of Four Paws was always minding his manners, the perfect gentleman pup.
Walter stayed with Jacki for two-and-a-half years, welcoming each new puppy, and learning proper manners from his pack leader. Jacki had plans in mind for Walter. Her aspirations were high. She wanted Walter placed not just in a good pet home, but in a home with structure (yes, at hip high Walter still and will always need his good manners and that’s where I come in). She also wanted Walter to have a job, but not just any job, for you see there is something a little magical about Walter. You’ll feel it when you meet him and when you touch him, and that is exactly what Jacki had in mind for this big redheaded fella. A job where he will meet and greet all souls, both two- and four-legged and they will be touched by his gentleness and warmth as he transforms into whatever you need.
