Meet Annika

Annika Before Four PawsThere are no words to describe how helpless I felt when our 1 year old English Bulldog Annika was not getting any better after months of taking her back and forth to the vets only to hear “IT’S A WHITE BULLDOG.” Annika not only was born white but she was also born deaf, to me neither made a difference, what did matter was she was losing hair on her sides, had sores on her back and her skin was scarlet red. This poor puppy was miserable and there was no sight of help until I made a phone call to 4 Paws.

I will never forget that day I called and talked to Debra explaining that I had taken Annika to a different vet and they did a Nutriscan test that showed Annika to be allergic to most everything dog food was made with. I had 4 things to choose from….EMU, OSTRICH, GOAT OR KANGAROO. Finding these meats with nothing that was on that test in it was impossible. I was in a position I did not want to be in…feed Annika food that was making her sick or have her starve because I could not find the right food.

Annika AfterDebra took the wheel and began doing research on what was in her store. I remember thinking how calm she was and her voice brought comfort to a “MOM” that was just about to break down. Debra found Annika a Buffalo diet that had no ingredients in it that would cause problems for her. Annika is now snow white, free of sores and happy.

I trust Debra with any of my little ones, in fact we just rescued 2 more Bulldog puppies that have special needs and the 1st place I started with is Debra on their nutrition. If it was not for the compassion and kindness in the hearts of Debra and her staff, Annika and so many others that face challenges like hers would still be going back and forth to the vets getting cortisone shots, antibiotics, etc. I hope that people will see this story, especially Bulldog owners and know that there is another solution. Thank you Debra for giving us a Light of Hope.
