Lily, my 15-year-old Cocker Spaniel, has been through a number of ordeals over her long life. But the one we faced in January through late March of this year was the worst. Lily stopped eating due to a digestive infection and I tried SO many things to stop her dangerous weight loss. I prepared her favorite “table foods” and mixed them with rice, or with egg (for protein), but nothing worked for more than a few days.
Then a friend at work suggested I try talking to the staff at Four Paws. My friend had had a similar issue with her dog and the staff had several suggestions for her. I gave them a try and was delighted to get Lily started on their Evangers brand of canned food. That did the trick. Lily loves several flavors of Evangers and enjoys the variety. Now, she anxiously awaits her next meal, instead of turning up her nose and walking away. And, she has gained a little of the weight she had lost. She is a happy (and bouncey) dog, once again.
